Hello! I’ve been a little quiet the past couple of weeks because I’ve been on an epic three week vacation to Iran and just got back! I tried to schedule more posts before I left, but ran out of time. I did get the chance to visit a library while I was away, so I’ll write a post on that when I can. I’ll also try to share some pictures as I know Iran is an unusual destination. I saw many amazing things.
Since I was away, I was not able to do any virtual internship hours because the internet service in Iran is awful. Even when I was able to connect, it was generally so slow it was unusable, or the websites I tried to visit were blocked. My site supervisor was aware that I was away and didn’t expect me to be able to do any work. Now it’s crunch time to make up the hours!
But, I did think about the internship. It’s getting closer to the end of the semester and I am thinking about the learning outcomes I created and how the work that I am doing applies to them. I’m really learning a lot about digital asset management and metadata. I think I have a good handle on three of my four learning outcomes, but will need to pursue the fourth more creatively now that I am more settled in.
